The Marketing Manager in a club and nightlife operation is responsible for driving awareness, attendance, and revenue through strategic brand positioning, targeted campaigns, and consistent guest engagement. In a fast-moving environment where trends, competition, and customer expectations shift quickly, this role ensures the venue remains visible, relevant, and desirable to its core audience while supporting business goals across events, table bookings, promotions, and special experiences.
This position typically sits within the commercial or senior management team and works closely with the General Manager, Venue Director, Events team, Reservations/Guest Experience team, and Operations. In many venues, the Marketing Manager reports directly to the General Manager, Director of Operations, or Managing Director, depending on the size and structure of the business. The role acts as the bridge between the brand strategy and day-to-day guest acquisition, ensuring all messaging, visuals, and promotions are aligned with the venue’s identity and revenue targets.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and executing the venue’s marketing calendar across events, theme nights, seasonal activations, and VIP/table packages.
- Managing digital channels, including social media, email marketing, website content, paid advertising, and online listings.
- Creating compelling campaigns that increase footfall, advance bookings, repeat visits, and brand loyalty.
- Coordinating with designers, photographers, influencers, PR partners, and media to maintain a strong public image.
- Tracking campaign performance, guest data, and ROI to refine strategy and improve results.
- Ensuring all marketing activity reflects the venue’s tone, standards, and premium positioning.
The ideal person for this role:
- Is highly creative but commercially minded, with a strong understanding of nightlife audiences and consumer behaviour.
- Thrives under pressure and can deliver to tight deadlines in a dynamic, late-night environment.
- Has excellent communication, organisation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Is confident using data to make decisions, while also understanding how to build excitement, exclusivity, and brand desire.
- Brings energy, resilience, and a strong eye for detail, with the ability to balance strategic planning and hands-on execution.
