The Pest Control Coordinator plays a vital role in protecting the venue’s hygiene, safety, and reputation by ensuring effective pest prevention, monitoring, and control across all guest, kitchen, storage, and back-of-house areas. In a restaurant, club, or lounge environment, this role helps maintain compliance with health regulations, supports food safety standards, and minimizes any disruption to daily operations or guest experience.

Position Overview

The Pest Control Coordinator sits within the Facilities & Maintenance function and works closely with Kitchen Management, Housekeeping, Security, and Operations to ensure the venue remains pest-free. The role typically reports to the Facilities Manager or Maintenance Manager, and may also liaise with the General Manager and external pest control contractors where required.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Monitor and prevent pest activity by conducting routine inspections of high-risk areas such as kitchens, dry stores, waste zones, drains, loading bays, and outdoor perimeters.
  • Coordinate pest control services by scheduling visits, briefing contractors, and ensuring recommended treatments and follow-up actions are completed on time.
  • Maintain records and compliance including inspection logs, treatment reports, trend analysis, corrective actions, and documentation required for audits and health inspections.
  • Respond to pest sightings quickly by investigating reports, identifying likely causes, escalating issues where needed, and coordinating immediate containment measures.
  • Support hygiene and prevention standards by working with teams to improve waste management, food storage, housekeeping routines, sealing gaps, and reducing entry points or attractants.
  • Track recurring issues and recommend practical improvements to layout, cleaning processes, repairs, or operational habits that reduce pest risk.

What Success Looks Like

  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive, prevention-focused mindset.
  • Good communication skills and confidence working across departments and with contractors.
  • A practical understanding of hygiene, food safety, and facilities standards.
  • Calm, organized, and responsive under pressure, with the ability to solve problems quickly and follow through on corrective actions.
  • Respect for confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive compliance or operational issues.

This role suits someone who is hands-on, highly observant, and committed to maintaining a safe, clean, and well-controlled venue environment.
