The Corporate Chef is the strategic culinary leader responsible for defining, standardizing, and elevating the food program across one or more venues within a restaurant, club, or lounge operation. This role combines creative vision with operational discipline, ensuring that every outlet delivers consistent food quality, strong presentation, efficient production, and a guest experience that aligns with the brand. The Corporate Chef sits within the Kitchen (Back of House) leadership structure and typically oversees culinary performance across multiple sites, working closely with senior management, General Managers, and outlet teams. The role usually reports to the Executive Chef, Director of Culinary Operations, or another senior operations leader depending on the organization’s structure.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain menus, seasonal offerings, recipes, and plating standards that reflect the brand and support profitability.
  • Create and implement standardized procedures for food preparation, portion control, sanitation, and kitchen execution across all relevant outlets.
  • Lead culinary training, coaching, and quality control to ensure consistency in taste, presentation, speed of service, and food safety.
  • Partner with purchasing, inventory, and operations teams to manage food costs, supplier relationships, and product specifications.
  • Monitor kitchen performance, analyze sales and margin data, and recommend improvements to menu mix, labor efficiency, and operational flow.
  • Support opening teams, special events, and high-profile service periods with hands-on leadership and problem-solving.
  • Stay current on culinary trends, guest preferences, dietary needs, and innovation opportunities relevant to the brand.

What success looks like

  • Strong culinary creativity balanced by commercial awareness and disciplined execution.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, influence standards, and build buy-in across multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and coaching skills, with a calm, solution-focused approach under pressure.
  • Deep knowledge of food safety, kitchen systems, cost control, and large-volume service.
  • A hands-on leader who can move comfortably between strategic planning, menu development, and active support on the kitchen floor.
