  • Purpose of the role:

The Data Analyst collects, cleans, interprets, and presents data from multiple systems, including POS, reservations, inventory, labor, CRM, and financial platforms. • Position in the organisation and reporting line:

This role sits within the Technology & Systems function, working closely with Operations, Finance, Marketing, HR, and Venue Leadership. In some venues, the role may also provide direct support to the General Manager or Directors with performance reporting.

  • Key areas of responsibility:
  • Build and maintain regular reports and dashboards for sales, covers, labor, inventory, and guest behavior.
  • Analyse trends, variances, and anomalies to identify root causes and improvement opportunities.

  • Track KPIs and produce clear performance summaries for management meetings.
  • Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and scenario planning using historical data.
  • Work with department heads to translate business questions into useful reports and insights.
  • Maintain data integrity, reporting standards, and confidentiality.

The best Data Analysts are detail-oriented, curious, and highly organised, with strong technical and analytical ability. They combine a logical mindset with commercial awareness and can communicate complex information in a simple, practical way. Success in this role also requires discretion, adaptability, and the ability to work well with both technical teams and frontline operators in a fast-moving hospitality environment.
