The Revenue Manager is responsible for protecting and growing the venue’s income by ensuring pricing, sales performance, and revenue controls are aligned across the business. In a restaurant, club, or lounge environment, this role helps convert demand into profitable sales, balancing guest experience with financial performance.

Reporting within the Purchasing, Finance & Administration function, the Revenue Manager typically sits close to senior leadership and works across operations, marketing, reservations, events, bar, and finance teams. The role commonly reports to the Finance Manager, Operations Director, General Manager, or a senior commercial leader, depending on the size and structure of the business.

Key responsibilities usually include:

  • Developing and maintaining pricing strategies for food, beverage, events, memberships, and private bookings
  • Monitoring sales trends, covers, spend per head, occupancy, and yield to identify revenue opportunities
  • Supporting forecasting, budgeting, and monthly revenue reviews with accurate performance analysis
  • Managing rate structures, package pricing, table allocation, and promotional offers to optimise profitability
  • Tracking competitor activity, market trends, and guest demand to keep the business commercially competitive
  • Working with reservations and front-of-house teams to maximise table turnover, booking conversion, and capacity utilisation
  • Reviewing revenue controls, discounting, comp policies, and leakage to protect margins
  • Producing clear reports and recommendations for management decision-making

A successful Revenue Manager is:

  • Commercially sharp, numerate, and highly analytical
  • Confident working with data, systems, and performance reports
  • Able to think strategically while also acting on detail
  • Strong in communication, with the ability to influence managers and department heads
  • Organised, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment
  • Attentive to both profitability and brand positioning, understanding that revenue growth must support the overall guest experience

This role suits someone who combines financial discipline with a strong understanding of hospitality trading, customer behaviour, and operational flow.
