The Shisha Master / Shisha Attendant plays a specialist guest-service role within the Bar & Beverage team, responsible for preparing, presenting, maintaining, and servicing shisha offerings to a high standard of quality, hygiene, and guest satisfaction. In venues where shisha is permitted, this role supports the overall lounge experience by delivering smooth, consistent service, maintaining product standards, and ensuring the shisha operation aligns with the venue’s service style, brand expectations, and local regulations.
This position typically sits within the Bar & Beverage department and works closely with floor service, bar, and management teams to ensure shisha service is timed well, presented professionally, and integrated seamlessly into the guest experience. The Shisha Master / Shisha Attendant usually reports to the Bar Supervisor, Bar Manager, Lounge Manager, or Venue Manager, depending on the structure of the operation.
Key responsibilities typically include:
- Preparing and setting up shisha equipment, charcoal, hoses, bowls, and flavour mixes to venue standards
- Delivering attentive table service for shisha guests, including recommendations, setup, monitoring, and timely refreshes or replacements
- Maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and safe handling of all shisha tools, consumables, and service areas
- Monitoring charcoal safety, equipment condition, and compliance with venue policies and local legal requirements
- Coordinating with waiters, runners, and bar staff to support efficient guest flow and smooth service
- Managing stock usage and reporting breakages, shortages, and equipment issues
- Providing a polished, guest-focused experience that reflects the venue’s premium standards
