The Social Media Manager is responsible for shaping and managing the venue’s digital voice across all social platforms, ensuring that every post, story, reel, and response reflects the brand’s personality, standards, and guest experience promise. In a restaurant, club, or lounge environment, this role plays a central part in driving awareness, building community, promoting events and offers, and converting online engagement into real-world visits and bookings.

This role sits within the Sales, Marketing & Guest Experience function and typically reports to the Marketing Manager, Brand Manager, or Director of Sales, Marketing & Guest Experience, depending on the venue structure. It works closely with operations, events, reservations, the host team, and sometimes chefs, beverage managers, and DJs or entertainment partners to ensure content is timely, accurate, and commercially aligned.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and executing the social media content calendar across platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and LinkedIn where relevant
  • Creating or coordinating engaging content that showcases the venue’s food, drinks, atmosphere, service, events, and guest moments
  • Managing community engagement by responding to comments, direct messages, tags, and reviews in a timely, brand-appropriate manner
  • Supporting the promotion of special events, seasonal campaigns, table bookings, private dining, VIP experiences, and offers
  • Monitoring performance metrics, analysing audience behaviour, and adjusting content strategy to improve reach, engagement, and conversions
  • Working with photographers, videographers, designers, influencers, and brand partners to deliver high-quality visual content
  • Protecting brand consistency and ensuring all communications meet tone-of-voice, compliance, and approval standards

The ideal person for this role is highly creative, digitally savvy, and commercially minded. They understand hospitality culture and know how to translate the energy of the venue into compelling online content. They are organised, proactive, and responsive, with strong writing skills, visual awareness, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. A successful Social Media Manager is both a storyteller and a strategist—someone who can inspire guests online while supporting measurable business results.
